How it works
Three steps from design to insight.
1. Design
Goal setting & policy options. Use our template to define goals and the impact of each option, then import into the deck builder to generate game components and PDFs—ready for your local printer.
2. Play
Self-facilitated sessions. Each game is set up for 5 players (4–6 work well). Run multiple sessions in parallel—just print the copies you need.
3. Analyze
AI-powered insights. Record and transcribe sessions, then upload files to get summaries, sentiment analysis, and theme reports. Use the built-in chatbot to ask follow-up questions.
When it is useful
Otter Power is useful when you develop or revise a plan (for example, a local development plan) that includes many options or components. These options can impact multiple goals. You want to understand what stakeholders think about different options and how they prioritise goals when presented with the choices.
What it helps you to achieve
Deploying a game helps you get more thoughtful, nuanced feedback from stakeholders—closer to a constructive dialogue. By exposing them to options and trade-offs gradually, you gain a more balanced view. Participants leave with a sense of meaningful engagement.
Using the AI-powered analytics tool on session recordings frees your time for policy development and turning consultation insights into action. With it, you can run more and better consultations.
